Sadhguru answers a question on why the mind seems to have a mind of its own! He looks at how terms such as "no-mind" and "stop the mind" have been used over the years, and asks why one would want to stop the mind - the product of millions of years of evolution. The problem, he reminds us, is not the mind, but that the mind is "telling its own story." He describes how the powerful kriya, Shambhavi Mahamudra, is one big step towards changing this. *************************** Transcript: http://isha.sadhguru.org/blog/video/stop-minds-chatter/ Questioner: Sadhguru, I wanted to know that when we are silent still we feel that mind chattering which always bothers us and our thought always shifts back to past and future imaginations which will not be any of output. How to get rid of it? Sadhguru: You want to stop your mind? There are whole lot of thought about this thoughtlessness. There are many places people… where people are… (Talking Aside - What are the little babies doing here, how old are these kids? How old are you? Fourteen? I am sure you added two years. (Laughter) Okay. (Laughs) You want to be here? Hmm? You don’t want to? Somebody is forcing you to stay? I’m saying you want to participate in the class? No? Then what are you doing here, go play with the elephant) (Laughter) Read Full Transcript: http://isha.sadhguru.org/blog/video/stop-minds-chatter/ *************************** Yogi, mystic and visionary, Sadhguru is a spiritual master with a difference. Yves quit his job even though he had it all: a big salary, health benefits and a pension plan. He sold his downtown condo, too. Why did he decide to drastically simplify his life? Because he was unhappy and unfulfilled. A couple of years ago, he went on a 10-day silent retreat and, after much soul-searching, realized that his job and his stressful lifestyle needed to go. Now, a year and a half later, he's living a minimalist lifestyle in a small bachelor apartment, riding his bike to work, and working 3 days a week at a grocery store. He has more time to spend with the people he loves, and a lot less stress. Does he regret his downshifting decision? Watch this video to find out! Thanks for watching! Fern Groh (1906-2011) lived to 105 . She was interviewed by a Centenarian author . She was known to be remarkable loving, quick witted , smart-minded. Simply ahead of her time. A wonderful person we enjoyed and will miss. Love you, Fern.
We asked three centenarians what their most valuable life lessons were, and also their regrets.
The conversations that followed were remarkable. They talked about the importance of family, people, relationships and love. Their view on life, as an elderly citizen with a lot of experience is truly an inspiration and motivation. Enjoy the video!
