BMW continues its video series on concept cars with their latest and most exciting concept car to date. The BMW Vision Next 100 previews the ideas that BMW has for the next years. According to BMW, the technology will change and vehicles will become intelligent.

In developing the BMW VISION NEXT 100, the main objective was to create not an anonymous vehicle but one that is highly personalized and fully geared to meet the driver’s every need.

For the BMW VISION NEXT 100, the design team specifically took into account all the trends and technological developments that will be most relevant to BMW in the decades ahead. But they also took many of their cues from innovations and designs of the past.

BMW says that in the years ahead, the driver’s well-being will become increasingly important, and rather than merely feeling they are in a machine that drives itself, they should sense that they are sitting in one that was specifically designed for them.

A very important element of the Vision Vehicle is another innovation is known as Alive Geometry, the likes of which have never before been seen in a car. It consists of a kind of three-dimensional sculpture that works both inside and outside the vehicle.

Over the last 100 years, we have helped shape the future of mobility by following our own unique vision: to create the ultimate vehicles for sheer driving pleasure. Anyone who gets behind the wheel of a BMW today can feel that. But there are even more exciting times ahead. Because now we’re taking sheer driving pleasure into the future with a vision vehicle that transforms you into the ultimate driver. Meet the BMW VISION NEXT 100.

The sensory and digital intelligence, permanent service availability and connectivity of the BMW VISION NEXT 100 come together in (the) Companion, which allows the vehicle to get to know its driver better and provide intuitive and subtle assistance in every driving situation. In this way, more than ever before, (the) Companion intuitively makes every trip a personalized and emotionally-rewarding experience for the driver.

The BMW VISION NEXT 100 sports dynamic wheel arches that help intelligently reduce drag and lower energy consumption. Fully closed during straight-line driving, the wheel arches remain flush to the car’s streamlined body for optimal aerodynamics. But whenever the car turns –they move in or out of the vehicle body in perfect synch with the wheels.
AERODYNAMICS.
The BMW VISION NEXT 100 fuses stunning streamlined design with a fully-closed outer shell to deliver exceptionally low drag of just 0.18 cW. Its optimised aerodynamic design creates a breathtaking profile that runs boldly from its iconic double front grilles to tapered rear like a single aesthetic brushstroke.
MONO-MATERIALS.
The interior finishings in the BMW VISION NEXT 100 are 100% leather-free and were produced using printable mono-materials. These optimise the production process as they can, for example, be printed directly with paint. Easy to recycle, they also enable a more ecologically efficient use of materials.
